A New Life in Paradise High School

       Hello, my name is Spiral Heler. Everybody calls me Spiral. I am 17 years old. I have no friends in school before, EVER IN MY LIFE. It is because everybody thinks that I am a super nerd and they jealous of me because I’ve always have the highest grade in the school, especially when I am in Teletic High School. I love to study so much until I even forget to eat my lunch in school. I am so lonely for 17 years Hahaha…. Can you imagine it??? Okay, let’s get back to the story. Dreams do come true you know. It all started when I’m changing from Teletic High School to Paradise High School. 

    It was 4p.m which is a day before my first day of high school, my new high school. “Oh, I can’t believe that my son is going to the new high school tomorrow!!! I hope you won’t miss your friends in Teletic High School” my mom shouted excitedly. “Mom” I sighed “I’m 17 now; you don’t have to be so excited. It’s not like my ‘first day of kindergarten’,” I said softly.

 “But it is going to be your first day of the new HIGH SCHOOL!!! After all, this high school has a lot of enjoyment like your last high school in Teletic High School. Remember when you said that everybody were very happy because you have score three goals for soccer” my dad shouted from the kitchen.

You see, I did not tell my parents about the sadness in the high school for 17 years because I don’t wanted them to always worry about me so I lied to them that I always have a great time in there. Once I remembered that I’ve said those word to them, my heart was fill with disappointment. I think it is time to tell them the truth so I blasted out everything.

“I LIED DAD!!!!! NO FRIENDS SUPPORTED ME; NO ONE PLAYS WITH ME SOCCER AND ESPECIALLY NO HAPPINESS IN SCHOOL!!!” I shouted sadly.

My mom looks disappointed and said “B...But you always s…said” mom stuttered.

“I LIED!!!! I LIED EVERYTHING BECAUSE I DON’T WANT YOU TO UPSET!!!!!!! FAKE!! FAKE!!! FAKE!!!!!!!” I scream and ran up to my room.

I bounce on my bed and felt relief. Tears rolled down my face. Suddenly, I heard somebody is knocking on the door.

“GO AWAY!!!” I shouted.

Then, I saw somebody came in. It was my little sister. I stand up and quickly hug her and even more tears roll down this time.

“Thank you sis, thank you for helping to keep the secrets for 10 years but I already have told them everything” My sister have been keeping the secret about my life since she was 5. Her name is Mary Heler and she is the only one that understands me. She’s the one who have always supported me. I am very happy to have a little sister.

“It’s alright bro. It’s alright to tell the truth. Sooner or later mom and dad will found out the secrets” Mary said.

“I know sis, but they now are having a full of disappointment. It’s like a person who had won a lottery but has lost the ticket in a place” I said sweetly while wiping my tears.

I sat on the bed while my sister is looking at me. “Let me try to speak to them” Mary said with full happiness on her face. She quickly ran down the stairs and I heard her talking with mom and dad. Whenever her face shows with full of happiness, which means her idea will works, IT ALWAYS WORKS. My face brightened up and lay on my bed.

“I think I should rest a while” I said to myself. I shut my eyes and fell asleep. My mom wakes me up about 7:45 p.m for dinner. I walk down slowly so I wouldn’t trip because I still felt a little bit drowsy.

“So son, are you ready like you’re ready” my father asked.

“What are you talking about???” I asked strangely.

I look at my sister and she wink at me.

“My dear” my mom patted on my shoulder. “We understand you. But please, try this high school first and see how it is. Maybe your life changes there.” My mom cheered me up a little but I am still worried.

“Everybody will just think that I am a super nerd and I will have no friends.” I said politely.

My mom smiled and said “It will be different. I promise”

After dinner, my sister is helping me to pack up all my clothes into the luggage because I am going to stay at the high school for a year or two. “I will miss you bro” my sister said. “I will miss you too” I said.

The next morning, I wake up at 6a.m to eat my breakfast and take a shower. We take off about 8:30a.m. Everybody in the car is very happy and excited except me. I am very scared and worried about that high school. I took out the high school brochure and take a look at it.

Rules:

1.   No Bully or Abuse Allowed Or You’ll Be Sent Back To Your Home Immediately

2.   If You Wanted To Make a Party At Anywhere In The High School, You Must Ask Permission From The Principle

3.   Able To Pick Only One Club

4.   You Are Free To Play All Kind Of Sports (ONLY ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY)

5.   You Are Free To Enter Any Tournament You Like Without Even A Single Permission

6.   Must Stay In This High School For A Year Or Two (which mean you are not allowed to go back to your home for a year or two)

7.   Only Can Meet Your Parents Once A Year

8.   You Are Allowed To Wear Anything You Like (like t-shirt and jeans) 

9.   You Are Also Allowed To Bring Electronic Stuff

There’s a map of the high school in the end of the brochure. The picture of Paradise High School in the brochure looks quite big. It sounds so good but I still worry about it. We reach there on 10:30 a.m. My hands and legs are shaking like a leaf. My sister patted on my hands and smiled at me. I smiled at her back and get out of the car. The Paradise High School is bigger than I thought in my mind. It has a beautiful fountain, huge compound and has a lot of lovely flowers and trees. I hugged my parents and sister.

“Be good a man, son” my father said.

“I’ve always been good, dad” I joked, trying not to sound so nervous.

“Goodbye bro, see you in next year or two” Mary said while hugging me.

We said goodbye a lot of time and they went back home. I carry my luggage and walk slowly to the entrance of the high school. I took one look at the map again and see where it is the principle office. It’s like a maze going to the principle office while taking a heavy luggage. A lot of people are walking around here and there like a hypermarket. I have been walking almost like more than twenty minutes. So I try to ask somebody. I found a person who look like a hunk and have a lot muscle with a handsome face. He is talking with his friends.

“I hope he is kind” I said to myself “Okay, here goes nothing” I walk slowly toward him and he stared at me. “I…I wanted t...to…” I stuttered.

He interrupted and said “Hey, calm down and speak nicely. You don’t have to be nervous. I am not as bad as you think” He sounded very polite and gentle so I felt comfortable to talk with him now.

“May you please show me where the principle office is?” I asked in polite way.

“With my pleasure” he answered.

“See ya guys” he wave to his friends while he walks away with me. He turns and greeted himself.

“Hello, my name Zack Hower. You may call me Zack and yours???”

I answered him back “My name is Spiral, Spiral Heler” We walk almost like 10 minutes and still haven’t reach to the principal office.

“How long will it take to go to the principal office?” I asked tiredly.

“Not far now” he answered.

I look at the time, I am surprised to see that I have walk for 1 hour but it’s worth it because I able to see a lot of things in the high school and I think I have make a new friend which is Zack. Finally, we have reached to the principal office.

“Here you are” he smiled.

“Thanks and may I ask you a question?” I asked.

“Ask away” he smiled again.

“Why do you always smile when you talk?” I asked.

He looks up on the ceiling for a while, and then faces me and answered “To attract people’s attention” He smiled, AGAIN.

“Good answer” I nodded while smiling.

I knock on the door and went inside while Zack went somewhere. The principle have small nose, big mouth but have a very big body size. “You’re late for 1 minute and 30 seconds” the principle said in an angry voice.

“I’m sorry but….” I tried to explain but the principal interrupted.

“NO BUTS, now….Welcome To Paradise High School!!!!”

I look at him weirdly. “I am just kidding just now. Don’t always get too serious ok?? OK” the principal shouted crazily.

The principle is trying to be funny but it is not working, but I managed to giggle a little bit.

“Here’s the key of your room, here’s a high school map tech 3000 (It is a phone that will able to show me where I must go when I get lost), a robot alarm clock, 3-D watch and hundreds of forms to sign!!! HA-HA. Oh and also, a free new tech bag pack” He shouted and laughing while I get out of the office swiftly.

I look at all the stuff that the principal gave. “This is the first time I ever seen this items in my life” I said to myself.

I take out the high school map tech 3000, click some buttons and it showing me to the room. I follow the arrows in the phone. Not even 5 minutes, I’ve already reach the room.

“5-1-8” I read out the number of the room. I took out the key to unlock it.

When I went inside, I am shock to see Zack in the room. He is lying on the bed while reading Mr. Midnight book.

“You love to read books?” I asked.

“Yup, it is one of my hobbies” he answered and then continued reading.

I don’t want to disturb him reading so I unpack my bag and try to find a place to out all the stuff that the crazy principal gives it to me. The room has three beds, and each bed is a double-decker.

“Wow, six people able to fit in this room. Unbelievable” I thought.

“You can sleep right on top of me” he said.

“Wow, this room quite big. Big enough to put 10 fat men” I joked.

“Ha-ha, nice joke but don’t say it out loud” he laugh.

Wow, the first time I make a person laugh, I thought.

“Here, let me help you to put the stuffs” he said while closing the book.

“Thank you, this is the first time somebody helps me to do something” I blurted out while my feeling is brightening up.

“What do you mean?” he asked curiously.

I give a sighed and tell him everything about my frightful life until I met him today while sitting beside with him on the bed.

“Wow, what a tragic story.” He said sadly while patted me on the shoulder.

He seems to understand me a lot, I thought.

He stands up, grabbed my two shoulders and said proudly “Well, your life is going to change today” He pulled me up, pushed me from the back of my body and quickly opens the door.

“There’s something I want to show you” he said while closing the door behind him. He turned around and said “I want you to meet my 3 best friends in my life” he said proudly.

I tried to run away but he was grabbing my shirt. I had no choice but to follow him.

“Me and my big mouth. I shouldn’t have told Zack about my life” I thought.

Zack took out his map tech 3000 and ordered “Take me to the gym”

“How did you do that???” I asked curiously.

“Just on it and tell it where you want to go, that’s all” he answered.

We have reached to the gym about 3 minutes.  

“Be prepared because…….he-he” he smirked. He pushed open the door and we entered the gym. The gym is a magnificent place. Every accessories in the gym have been improved a highly new tech.

“Why everything in the gym is so high tech” I asked curiously while looking at the whole place.

“Didn’t you read the brochure? It have been said that this high school will be very different from the other high school and also this high school is full with new tech accessories” he said. “The football, soccer, basketball, tennis and some more games have been change to electronic supersonic machine, which means that…..Oooh, you’ll get over it, right now you have to meet my best friends” he said while pushing me toward 3 people.
